INCIDENT RESPONSE IN TEXAS OR OTHER STATES
Incident response is a method of handling security incidents, breaches, and cyber threats that allows you to effectively identify, minimize the damage, and reduce the cost of a cyber-attack. The first Step of Incident Response is preparation and reporting. After that triage and analysis is done. Incident response in Texas or other states need to be prepared for cyber incidents. Firstly, they identify key elements of a cyber incident response plan using the literature and then assess available state cyber incident response plans using the key elements and lastly, make recommendations to improve state incident response plans using the results of the assessment. Incident response plans is divided into three major categories named as incident response team structure, handling an incident, and coordination and information sharing. The incident response team has six states had a minimal discussion, and two had no reference to "Chief Information Officer."
The second category handling that states were rated as well or not and Containment Eradication and Recovery has been done. Lastly, coordination and information sharing were rated. The teams of incident response in Texas or other states had the best incident response plan; however, there is much work needed to be done to strengthen state incident response plans.
